Walking out of the hotel door in Beijing!

It is 4:10 a.m. Monday morning here in China. It's 4:10 p.m. on Sunday afternoon there in Virginia. We are about to walk down to the lobby. It is too early for breakfast but the hotel will have breads & tea/coffee for us. This has really been such a comfortable stay.

Ian is fast asleep. I kept his p.j. top on him but put on regular pants. We drive out of the hotel on a bus to the airport at 5:00 a.m. So, if you get this, please keep us in your mind.

Our flight to Guangzhou departs somewhere between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m. The flight is about 3 hours. So, by around 11:00 pm your time on Sunday evening we should have landed. Sometime in the afternoon we will be taken to a Civil Affairs office and Hannah Mei will be handed over to us...quite literally. She apparently has a 10 hour journey from her town. That sure would not be easy. 4 little girls around the same age are traveling together. I just can't even begin to picture what this will look like in my mind.

Our guide here said that we should take snacks with us and small toys & diapers. She reminded us that the little girls will most likely be afraid. She said not to be alarmed if they all start screaming or crying. She said that typically if one child starts it startles all the others and suddenly the entire room is in a panic. OH, I hope this does not happen. She said that the time of the pick up is very brief. We then return to our hotels with the girls.
